Can T Verify Microsoft Account

Posted on  by  admin

Hi guys!I was doing my standard clean install from scratch, using 1703/Creators Update, and got all the way through with no problems. Then I proceeded to adding my MS account so that I could add a second MS account for a generic user I have created.Everything went fine, the account was added, until trying to do the 'Verify' step - and here is the really odd part - where it usually obscures the first few letters of my email address, it now suddenly shows the whole thing. Then it fails on verify every time with a 0x801901f4 error.I made sure it got all updates.

Can T Verify Microsoft Account Password

Eventually, I was able to verify my Microsoft account, but not in the way that it was supposed to work. A quick Google search turned up the fact that a number of Windows 8.1 users were being led on this same wild goose chase when being prompted to re-verify their Microsoft accounts. You can use a Google Voice number. Get one of those if you have a gmail account. It will then use Hangouts to receive the text you get from Microsoft. I use it all the time, makes it easier to copy/paste the activation numbers you get sent. When you sign up for a Microsoft account or add an email address to your account, we automatically send a request to that email for you to verify that we have the right address. To finish the process, just follow the verification link in the email. If you need a new verification email: Sign in to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.

I have pursued all known threads for this error, and reached only dead ends. Finally, I gave up and did a full reset on the machine - built it all back up again, and it does exactly the same thing! The odd thing is, it allows me to log on just fine, only the 'verify' part is broken.

It isn't just a momentary lapse at MS, it has been more than 24 hours since it started. Thank you for your help! They are Windows 10 Pro, automatically activated from the licensing in the BIOS. MS accounts do not have anything to do with Windows activation.Yes, after setting up machines with a local account, my final step is to switch from using the local account to using my MS account. Then I add another generic MS account that I use with multiple machines - it is a 'child' account under family safety, which puts some restrictions on the users. Then I switch it back to use the local account.

I have dozens of machines running this way for years with no problems. The problem the past few days is that after switching to my MS account, I can log in with it just fine, I just cannot verify it. Everything else still works fine.

I'm having an issue with my e-mail ( removed for security reason) what is that whenever I go to sign in it displays a screen saying something under the line of 'It looks like someone else is using your account'. Anyway,I went through all of the verification techniques listed including the questionnaire and sending a reset code to my secondary e-mail. The issue with the first point is that I just cannot give enough information. I don't know the answer to my security question,I don't recall ever sending an e-mail, I certainly haven't created any custom folders and despite knowing that I've almost certainly added some contacts I can not think exactly who as I just don't use my e-mail for anything other than receiving newslettersfrom my subscriptions and websites I have signed up for. The back-up e-mail doesn't work, unsure if it's because the e-mail is just invalid now or not one I use or if it is because the e-mail that I think it is actually isn't it.

Finally, I don't have anyof my Xbox Live Microsoft repaid cards still lying around as I threw them all away so I can't enter that either. I did think I could enter billing info but I'm not even sure I got that right after all the fails I received (I stopped using my billing info awhile back so it's kind of difficult to remember exactly which info I used). So, I messaged customer support who after around a week of messages going back and forth (and having to wait around 24 hours for each reply due to time zone inconveniences) they managed to tell me to try the verification test again, several times. I did tryregardless of knowing what would happen and yeah, I failed again and again.

I did eventually get sent to a password reset page but this only led to the same problems I already had, I couldn't verify my account from the questions they were asking. My biggest issue with all this is that my Xbox Live Membership is being blocked which I have paid for and this is seriously make me question if I am going to stay with Xbox for the next generation. Anyway, I was really hoping that you guys can try to assistme without just re-directing me with generic answers and links to the questionnaire that I have already tried so many times. Finally, I did find the following post in which the person got their accounts unblocked by being redirected to the product experts although I am not exactly sure how he got it solved as I can't see that information:Original title: I can't verify my Windows Live account.
